Mind-body-spirit practice may help lower medical bills

Meditation has a long list of health benefits, from reducing stress to improving mental clarity. The health-boosting aspects of the mind-body-spirit practice may even be so powerful that practitioners could end up with lower medical bills.
Psychologist Robert Puff, of Newport Beach, Calif., says that each person's body reacts differently to stress, and it can therefore cause a catalog of health problems. Meditation may therefore stave off a number of illnesses.
"We can have intense jobs and deal with difficult matters both in and outside of work. But if we meditate regularly, we can still experience peace of mind regardless of our responsibilities," said Puff.
Many people underestimate the toll that stress can take on their minds and bodies. As a result, they don't develop methods to deal with stressors and the negative effects of anxiety build up.
Ilchi Lee recommends mind-body-spirit practices to help individuals gain mental clarity and a higher state of fulfillment. When all three aspects of a person are aligned, only then can they begin to grow and develop as people.
